QUOTES FORM SPACE COLLECTIVE...

I live on Earth at present, and I don't know what I am. I know that I am not a category. I am not a thing — a noun. I seem to be a verb, an evolutionary process — an integral function of the universe.
R. Buckminster Fuller

“Within thirty years,we will have the technological means to create super- human intelligence. Shortly after, the human era will be ended.”
Vernor Vinge
"You affect the world by what you browse."
Tim Berners-Lee
Inventor or the World Wide Web
Too much consistency is as bad for the mind as it is for the body. Consistency is contrary to nature, contrary to life. The only completely consistent people are the dead.
Aldous Huxley

We are called to be architects of the future, not its victims.
R. Buckminster Fuller via Wildcat

“Everything you’ve learned in school as “obvious” becomes less and less obvious as you begin to study the universe. For example, there are no solids in the universe. There’s not even a suggestion of a solid. There are no absolute continuums. There are no surfaces. There are no straight lines.”
Buckminster Fuller
“We talk far too much. We should talk less and draw more. I personally should like to renounce speech altogether and, like organic Nature, communicate everything I have to say in sketches. That fig tree, this little snake, the cocoon on my window sill quietly awaiting its future – all these are momentous signatures.”

“There is a theory which states that if ever anybody discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable. There is another theory which states that this has already happened.”
Douglas Adams

NEW MATH

THIS is quite a quiky webite. take a look.

STARMAN....

Didn't know what time it was and the lights were low
I leaned back on my radio
Some cat was layin' down some rock 'n' roll 'lotta soul,
he said

Then the loud sound did seem to fade
Came back like a slow voice on a wave of phase
That weren't no D.J. that was hazy cosmic jive

CHORUS
There's a starman waiting in the sky
He'd like to come and meet us
But he thinks he'd blow our minds
There's a starman waiting in the sky
He's told us not to blow it
Cause he knows it's all worthwhile
He told me:
Let the children lose it
Let the children use it
Let all the children boogie

I had to phone someone so I picked on you
Hey, that's far out so you heard him too!
Switch on the TV
we may pick him up on channel two
Look out your window I can see his light

If we can sparkle he may land tonight
Don't tell your poppa or he'll get us locked up in fright

slides and ordering stuff...

ok so this is the gerneral order and details of what we had jotted down...

  1. research page...this is the one that i have done, with lots of magazines on, i think i'll do a secondary one too for this to also chat about london and places of interest. might even add some paris stuff come to think of it.
  2. focus- how we want the reader to feel...this is the one you've done??. we said we want to use buzzwords adn images to some up our reader and the affect the zine has. words like 'intelligent, explore, curious, visual learner...' that kind of thing.
  3. macro trends...this is the slide i have done (the bad one, ha) of the wolff olins, how we came up with the space idea (microsoft telescope thing, trend of 2010) maybe we could elaborate more on how space has been a current trend...we can use graphic influences?
  4. 'space'- the brake down of the word. *this one i'd like help on*....so we've already got the word crossed out. i think we need more visuals maybe of why we were so confident on picking such an odd subject! so maybe something about the many routes we can take it/its diversity? im not really sure...
  5. then we need a slide for zine vs website. *i wouldn't mind doing this one* if you don't mind??
thats all of the ones that i have written down.
